AWWW MAN!!! WHAT THE HELL?!???!?!?http://www.modestmouse.com/links.html - hahahahaha. Am I really reading this? Is it true? Have those FUCKERS(!!!) pushed back the release date again?!?! Is that what is going on? This must be some kind of sick joke that Epic is playing to try and make me have a heart attack or something. Oy - god, I actually was expecting this, but usually when I expect things to happen - they don't - so I thought no worries. Ahh, those fuckers - WHY ARE THEY TRYING TO KILL MY SOUL?!?!?! (Pete and Pete joke - long story)

We were at 68 days and now it's back up to 75 or some shit. That's depressing, man.

I am such a bad fucking counter. I went to the calender to check how many days because I wasn't sure it was 72 or whatever. And first I counted 69(::immature giggles::), then I counted 67, and then I counted 68.... so I am going to go quad-check... I came up with 68 again, but knowing me it's probably wrong, but for now, it's 68. 68 days.

This is from the Modest Mouse mailing list at the Epic fan page thing -

MODEST MOUSE FANS --

The new Modest Mouse album, Good News For People Who
Love Bad News, will be released March 30. It was
produced by Dennis Herring (Camper Van Beethoven, Throwing
Muses), and features the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and a track
remixed by The Flaming Lips/Dave Fridmann.

Look for the very limited Modest Mouse "Float On" 7" (b/w
non-LP track "I've Got It All (Most)") to hit your favorite
record store early February.

Plans are underway to also release a remastered/expanded
edition of The Moon and Antarctica in March -- stay
tuned for further details.

New tour dates include NYC, Florida and Seattle:
02/04/04 NEW YORK, NY IRVING PLAZA
02/05/04 NEW YORK, NY IRVING PLAZA
02/10/04 TAMPA, FL ORPHEUM
02/11/04 TAMPA, FL ORPHEUM
02/12/04 MIAMI, FL THE POLISH AMERICAN CLUB
02/13/04 ORLANDO, FL THE SOCIAL
02/14/04 ORLANDO, FL THE SOCIAL
02/15/04 ORLANDO, FL THE SOCIAL
02/17/04 ST AUGUSTINE, FL CAFE ELEVEN
02/18/04 S. JACKSONVIL, FL JACK RABBITS
02/20/04 TALLAHASSEE, FL THE BETA BAR
02/21/04 TALLAHASSEE, FL THE BETA BAR
02/26/04 SEATTLE, WA THE SHOWBOX

Remastered Moon and Antarctica - hmmmm. I think that remastered albums are just an excuse to get fans to buy two of the album, and I am the kind of person that does things like that. I mean, I own two copies of every Foo Fighters album - original and remastered or repakaged or expanded or whatever... Man... I don't have enough money for this.

Modest Mouse returns with 'Good News'

By Jonathan Cohen

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Veteran underground rock act Modest Mouse will release its first studio album in more than three years on March 30.

"Good News for People Who Love Bad News" (Epic) is the follow-up to the act's 2000 label debut, "The Moon & Antarctica." The new album was recorded in Oxford, Miss. and Memphis. One song was mixed in mid-August by the Flaming Lips in upstate New York.

The set marks the recorded debut of Modest Mouse's latest lineup, which features frontman Isaac Brock, bassist Eric Judy and new drummer Benjamin Weikel, replacing Jeremiah Green. Founding guitarist Dan Gallucci is also back on board, after spending the past few years in the now-defunct Murder City Devils.

"Good News" also sports guest appearances from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Hackensaw Boys' Tom Peloso and Otha Turner's Rising Star Drum Band.

Modest Mouse kicks off a three week North American tour Feb. 4-5 in New York.
